Face-attacking cat blamed for crash that wrecks restaurant
I love cats; share my living space with two them. But I don't think they make good auto companions. Mine only travel in the car when they go see the vet, and they stay locked inside the carrier until we arrive no matter how loudly the protest.

Driving with a cat loose in a car can be hazardous. I remember once returning home from the vet with my cat. I let it out of the carrier and it promptly went down and got behind the brake pedal. Along comes a red light and I thought for a mement I was going to have a flat cat. Then I remembered the emergency brake so the cat was spared. But it taught me a lesson about the folly of letting a cat run loose in your car.

I am allergic to cats. But my dog barks and howls whenever we take him to the vet.
