Take It Back
Seventy years ago the German people allowed an evil group to seize control of their country. Using fear and racism, the Nazis unleashed a holocaust of oppression, destruction and death that left Europe and Russia depopulated and in ruins, tens of millions of innocent people dead, and even more lives shattered. Their victims vowed that never again would this be allowed to happen.
Six years ago the American people allowed an evil group to seize control of their country. The Cheney-Bush administration has violated treaties, trampled international law and human rights, set up torture camps in foreign countries and invaded sovereign states, unleashing a campaign of oppression, destruction and death that has killed three-quarters of a million people, ruined the lives of many more, and made our country’s name an object of fear and loathing throughout the world.
But the American people have learned from the German mistakes of the 1930’s. Last month, despite vote-rigging and systematic propaganda, they voted against the failed occupation of Iraq, and the counterproductive policies sold as necessary to protect us, but which actually are killing Americans daily, and increasing our chances of terrorist attack.
With a Democrat-controlled Congress, and even the mainstream press questioning the administration, it is starting to look like America again. We have a window of opportunity to take back our government. With the mandate of November:
We ask our representatives to end the Iraq occupation IMMEDIATELY, before one more victim is killed in vain.
We ask that they IMMEDIATELY close all torture camps, secret or otherwise, and either charge those prisoners with crimes according to international law, or set them free.
We ask they also begin to investigate and ultimately bring to justice those who have perverted the American system, and made us a terrorist state.
We ask that our leaders to begin to dismantle the dictatorship Cheney and Bush have created, starting by repealing the so-called “Patriot Act.
NOW is the time for our leaders to show courage of conscience to end the suffering and death, and act to ensure that NEVER AGAIN will our system of government be perverted into an engine of torture, oppression and murder.

I would only change "ask" to "demand."
