Ode to a Cig

You were a great friend,
We shared every special moment together.
We also missed many things as we huddled alone,
Away from all others.

I held you for comfort and joy,
I held you and you calmed me.
We laughed and played and drank together,
And after every dinner, we'd sit and reflect on the day.

I loved you, my old friend,
And how did you treat me?
You were always trying to kill me,
Slowly poisoning me and I let you.

No more, you dastardly fellow, you killer of killers,
I have removed you from my life.
And my only regret,
Is that I didn't do it sooner.

Good for you!

I used straws cut the length of cigarettes and bubblegum. The straws allowed me to "smoke" on breaks and in the car. The bubblegum kept the oral fixation satisfied.

After 20 years, I quit only after having a massive asthma attack on July 21st, 2000.

You can do it!

Thanks Ekovox! I also smoked for about 20 years(and I'm only 35). I tried a bunch of different things in the past. For this final successful endeavor, I used a drug called Chantix on a recommendation by my Doc. I only took it for about a month.

A big congrats to the both of us!!!

I'm proud of you both!

I have been a non-smoker for nearly 2 years (using The Easy Way to Stop Smoking). I still think about a few times a week and want to smoke. That is until I smell it for more than 10 seconds. Then it grosses me out. But I'm better for not smoking - my health, skin and bank account thank me! Good job - it's not easy and keep it up!
