Tooth Fairy Confusion

batterup

C-dub just lost his second tooth and Hubby took it upon himself to assist the tooth fairy with her financial donation. As he came out of C-dub's room, he had a huge smile on his face proclaiming that he had "done the deed." When I asked him how much the deed had cost, he threw this total at me:

$5

Ouch! After a brief discussion, the $5 was replaced with a $1 bill. And to think, I only got a quarter left in a shot glass...

How much does the tooth fairy leave in your house? Help me convince Hubby that inflation isn't that bad!

One dollar for one tooth. And it has to be under the pillow.

We have our first loose tooth in our house and I've been thinking hard about this one... I remember 25-50ยข per tooth... In today's climate, I think $1 is fine... My girls still don't have a good grasp on the value of money, so anything more is over the top for us. I'll try to get some silver dollars together - they might get a kick out of that.

Our son figured out that the tooth fairy, santa and all those other creatures were really just mommy/daddy around the age of your son. However, it all depends on the situation- If the tooth naturally falls out then its a buck, but if it has to be pulled (by a dentist) then he gets a little more b/c he hates the dentist.. A little bribery on our part helps us get him to the dentist!

Well we just lost our last tooth! I am sad, this means my boys are all grown up! My boys would typically get a buck or two depending on the size of the tooth. Since this was the last time the tooth fairy was going to visit our house and it was a baby molar he got $10... He was way stoked! I figured why not... One little kid chapter that has been closed in our house.

I agree with Carol. I remember getting 30-50 cents per tooth. I also agree that a simple "fall out" vs a "yank out" is worth more!

My parents were .... I'm mean the tooth fairy was AMAZINGLY stealthy and would exchange the tooth for money left under our pillow. I recall quarters and Kennedy half-dollars. Remember Kennedy half-dollars? Keep in mind that I AM kinda old.

We do $1 per tooth. Maybe $5 for the last tooth.
