Got Wood?
I about croaked when I got my last PG&E bill - it was nearly $300. I knew we had been running our "efficient" forced air heater more due to brisk mornings and cold nights, but I didn't think it was that often. Needless to say, the switch has been turned to "off" and our woodstove has been getting a great workout. Hubby was able to cut quite a bit of wood over the summer and our woodshed is slowly emptying while we get the benefit of a warm house and a cozy fire every night.
I also get to have a little fun now that I have the chore of bringing wood in, since wussy boy (a.k.a. Hubby ) can't lift anything over 10 pounds. Look what I found tonight:
Mother Nature can be quite clever. Or I'm just a perv.

Girl, do NOT get me going on this one. We lived in a 1350 hundred sq. foot house in Eureka that we rented while we were buying in Wyoming. It had NO heat whatsoever, NONE. It had a gas stove, electric water heater, a fridge and whatever electricity we used for lights. My husband kicked his butt going up and cutting wood for the wood stove. All of a sudden, our PG&E bill went up to $600....WTF? So, we called them, they refused to come do an audit, and not only that, but they told us that as of the moment I was calling that our bill for the the next month would be close to $700.....I walked the property, looked for anything that looked like someone was tapping our power, but I don't know how to look. Again, PG&E refused to cooperate. So, we lived there for two weeks in January of '06...we moved on the 15th....the final bill from PG&E........$600......I was livid. I paid it in small increments...........
