The big one at 02:30 woke me up, of course then I couldn't go back to sleep because I was waiting for the next one. It was sort of a weird one, it seem to start and then slow down and then pick up a again. I didn't feel the Trinidad ones though, thankfully. I a not a fan of earthquakes, never have been but the ones in 1992 put me over the top. Hopefully these minor ones will release the pressure build up and that will be the end of them for now.
Johnny Carson had a line that in So Cal an earthquake would elicit a mild discussion of, "was that a 4, or a 3.5?" But if it rained, they declared a state of emergency and closed the schools.
The LA Times reported that there were 2 quakes seperated by 31 seconds at 02:30, one 4.6 and the other 4.9. I bet that is why it felt like it started and then started again. To bad our local paper didn't have that info.
Gosh, these things still scare the crap out of me. I still remember how scary the last really big ones that took out Ferndale were. My brother and I slept on our parent's floor because of the aftershocks. So scary as a kid but even more scary as an adult since I now realize my own mortality!
my husband is a fireman and we have scanners. I was awakened by a police chase in fortuna. I felt the first wave kind of gently thought it was over and felt a little more. One of the police accidently keyed the mike and i heard them ordering this man on the ground and about that time the big jolt hit. Then i started laughing as I thought it was kind of ironic. I was reading the paper and I was thinking the timing was off as that last big jolt hit while the officer was on top of suspect. I wonder if they even felt it.

Hah !! It wasn't much. A gentle shimmy.

I felt one but I was the only one in my family. It wasn't very strong.
