College Edumacation
Starting this August, I'm gonna get me some college edumacation. That's right, you heard me, I'm gonna be a college student. Keggers, beer slides, and toga parties will be part of my dictionary again, just like it was 10 (or so) years ago. Um, yeah, not so much. In all reality, I've decided to further pursue my love of photography and photo editing by taking two classes on the subject. I'm really excited but at the same time, not "lurving" the idea of homework. But heck, at least it will be homework that I'll probably enjoy, right? Let's hope so. I wonder if I'll be a better student now that I'm paying for my own books?
A special thanks to Monica for the recommendation on the classes.

Good for you!!! At times you might get discouraged - having a family - and wonder if it is really worth it (YES, it is worth it)....I know I relate a lot of personal stories, but both of my sisters got college degrees and master's degrees with children. It was hard, but worth it. In fact, one sister was pregnant with her third child and signed up for summer session when she was 8 months pregnant. We thought she should at least take off the summer session (heck, what do we all know?). Anyway, she went to class on Friday, had the baby on Saturday, and was in class with the baby in the carrier on Monday (uh, personally, I do NOT recommend this to anyone. I think the baby was way too young to be in public, but, again, my sister is her own person). The professor told everyone in class that if she did not miss class after just having a baby that anyone else who missed class had better have a better excuse than she did, ha! This was at the University of Wyoming in Casper around '91.
Sorry, I probably say too much (I am not trying to be obnoxious or a braggart or take away from your story or excitement or to make it about "me", although, it is hard not to come across that way in text, especially since you do not know me), I am just trying to encourage you. I think it is a GREAT idea! Don't give up and pursue your dream.

Yeah, inquiring minds want to know--when? where?

yayy! Homework doesn't stink so much when you know you're learning something (or improving on something) that you'll be able to use in the future.
I hope that in my last semester at HSU, this Spring, I'll get an opportunity to squish in a photography class. Photo journalism/Photoshop was such a fun way to expand on my comfort zone. It would probably be fun to take an actual Art class... but only with a teacher that appreciates digital, and it's just snobby for film. Cuz dangit, I spend enough on this digital camera, I just don't see it going anywhere!
